Our first club champs in recent history and the weather couldn’t have been any better.
We had a great turn out and all seemed to have a great time which bodes well for future club competitions run in this way.
Firstly, congratulations need to go to Baz for pulling this together and taking time out to plan things, albeit with a good dose of help from Rob Senior. Although we’re not sure what Rob said to Baz that made him blow the electronic whistle a few times whilst he was at full draw! All good fun though!
The wider team also need a mention for helping setup the pitch under the guidance of Rob Junior, so thanks to all there for mucking in as needed and a special thanks to Ella for the presentation of all prizes and medals.
The results and prizes
What you’ve all been waiting for…
There was a small correction to be made so thank you to those involved and well done to Jeff for noticing and alerting Baz.
In addition to the prizes won as part of the competition, Colin was awarded the Treasurer’s Halfpennies trophy by Rob Senior for his fortitude in directing the new committee in his tenure as the club chairman.
Some photos from the day
One of the immediate positives to come from this day is that all present on the day have expressed an interest in running a mock tournament every month to get everyone used to the setup, style and scoring involved. Hopefully it will encourage more to go out and compete at other events and drag members of other clubs over to our turf and compete in future events we hold.
